masti-e-gam bhi thi ghaflat-e-anjam ke sath
do ghadi khel liye gardish-e-ayyam ke sath

tishna-lab rahne pe bhi sakh to thi shan to thi
waz-e-rindana gai ek talab-e-jam ke sath

jab se hangam-e-safar ashkon ke tare chamke
talkhiyan ho gain wabasta har ek sham ke sath

ab na wo shorish-e-raftar na wo josh-e-junun
hum kahan phans gae yaran-e-subuk-gam ke sath

ud chuki hain sitam-araon ki ninden aksar
aap suniye kabhi afsana ye aaram ke sath

is mein saqi ka bhi dar-parda ishaara to nahin
aaj kuchh rind bhi the waiz-e-badnam ke sath

ghair ki tarah mile ahl-e-haram ai 'zaidi'
mujh ko yak-go na aqidat jo thi asnam ke sath
