love is the emperor of all around
though no throne or crown can there be found

dard-e-furqat ki go dawa hai visal

yas ne kya bujha diya dil ko

hum to sirat-pasand aashiq hain

ill-natured, then what good a pretty face?

hur se puchhta hun jannat mein
is jagah kya buton ka raj nahin

in heaven from houris i ascertain:

sabr bhi dil ko 'dagh' de lenge
